Broadstone Warren Scout Site and Activity Centre - Forester Badge 2019

In 2019 there will be a Forester Badge course run at Broadstone Warren.

  • Forester Badge course (for those who have not done the course before) on 25th to 27th October 2019.

  • Forester Instructors course (for those who have completed a Forester Badge course) on 25th October – 27th October 2019 This will be run alongside the Forester Badge Course, but will look at forestry in greater depth and will include elements on instructing skills.

Registration for each course commences from 7.30pm on the Friday evening, and the course starts at 8pm. The course concludes on Sunday at 4pm with a presentation of certificates. Parents, guardians and leaders are invited to attend this.

The cost of each weekend will be £50.00 per person, and this will cover all tuition, indoor accommodation, food and equipment.

The Forester Badge that is run by Broadstone Warren is an intensive course that involves hard work of a physical nature, and is not suitable for younger Scouts. As a result all participants must be at least 11 years of age. Applicants for the instructor course must be at least 12 ½ years old. Both courses are open to Explorer Scouts.

At the end of the course, successful participants will be awarded with a certificate. This should be passed to their Leader who will award the badge. Any participant who does not complete the course will be informed of how they need to improve before the badge can be awarded.

To book a place on either course please download the form here and return it with the fee (cheques payable to Broadstone Warren) by 7th October 2019. Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Only completed forms which include payment will be accepted. Incomplete forms, or any received without payment or after the date above will be returned.

If you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact us.

We look forward to receiving your form and payment, and seeing you on the course.
